Golfer's elbow / Tennis elbow
Are you suffering from these symptoms of golfer's elbow or tennis elbow?
I always get sore while playing, so a support brace is essential.
I feel like my grip strength has decreased due to the pain.
My elbow hurts when I bend and straighten it.
Applying compresses or taking painkillers only provides temporary relief.
Please rest assured.

Golfer's elbow is called medial epicondylitis of the humerus, and tennis elbow is called lateral epicondylitis of the humerus.
Lateral epicondylitis, which is particularly common clinically, is thought to be caused by micro-damage and inflammation in the extensor carpi radialis longus and extensor carpi radialis brevis, which are forearm extensor muscles attached to the lateral epicondyle (outside of the elbow), due to heavy load or repeated stress .
It can be caused by overuse of tendons , repetitive movements that put strain on them , or actions like wringing out a rag .
Another major cause is the loss of muscle flexibility due to aging .
It's not just golfers and tennis players who are developing this condition; recently, we 've seen an increase in cases among people who spend a lot of time working on computers, those who carry heavy loads, and those in nursing and caregiving professions.
Conservative treatment often involves rest, medication, and observation, but in refractory cases, local steroid injections may be performed.
Characteristics of treatment for golfer's elbow and tennis elbow at Karada Kenkyujo Acupuncture and Osteopathic Clinic
At our clinic, we use acupuncture and manual therapy to precisely target the extensor carpi radialis longus and extensor carpi radialis brevis muscles, which are the source of pain, through trigger point therapy .
In addition, if other contributing factors include age-related muscle and tendon degeneration, overuse, insufficient warm-up during sports, or technical issues, we will also implement an approach that involves providing guidance on proper body mechanics through exercise therapy.
The outcome of these treatments depends on the therapist's skill, so if the treatment is ineffective, there is often no improvement in symptoms.
Leave it to us, experts in muscles and fascia.
The treatment process for golfer's elbow and tennis elbow.
STEP1
First, after a consultation, we perform a physical examination including palpation and range of motion checks to identify whether the pain is caused by muscles, joints, or nerves. Unless the cause is properly identified at this stage, even treatable conditions will not be cured.
STEP2
After that, we will explain your physical condition, the treatment plan, and the treatment fees. Once you agree, we will begin the treatment.
STEP3
The causes of pain are diverse, ranging from muscle and fascial pain to joint and nerve pain, but we will provide the most suitable treatment method for each type of pain.
[ Trigger point therapy and exercise therapy (motor control, Pilates )]
In addition, we use exercises practiced by top athletes in Europe and the United States to adjust the balance of the pelvis, rib cage, and spine.
